Our Programs & Approach
We’re here for you
At CCL our work and community are built on the foundational belief that everyone is naturally creative, resourceful, capable, and whole. We utilize Co-active & Family Centered Coaching to engage the community members who receive CCL’s free services.
What makes it distinct from traditional social services is that CCL does not offer case management. Instead, the member who receives CCL services is the expert in their own life and the “driver’s seat” in reaching their own goals. CCL’s Coaches start with a coaching agreement and listen first to the vision you have for your own life. Then, CCL’s Coaches are your accountability partners in naming and reaching your financial, housing, employment, and small business goals!

Small Business Coaching
At Center For Changing Lives we believe that we need to support small businesses to achieve economic vitality.
Currently, we are working with some small businesses in the area, namely those owned by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and near our South Chicago Colocation Office.
Also we encourage you to support local businesses and shop small!
Additionally, we offer Small Business Support & Coaching to connect you to the resources you need, whether you are launching your entrepreneurial dream, or if you are a long-standing business owner.
We are officially an NBDC (Neighborhood Business Development Center) with the City of Chicago. We also offer outreach and education about the benefits of forming worker cooperatives and the positive impact that can have on our economy.

Here to Stay Community Land Trust
Center for Changing Lives is a founding member of the Here to Stay Community Land Trust in Hermosa and West Logan Square. We buy properties and sell the buildings on those properties to moderate-income buyers from the community at a discounted rate, ensuring long-term affordability and extending the benefits of homeownership to a community to which they would otherwise be inaccessible.

CCL is focused on offering our community members a bundled approach supporting each individual's needs, such as Employment Coaching (resume building, interview skills), HUD-approved Housing Counseling and Financial Coaching (finding affordable housing, understanding leases, creating a budget, building or rebuilding credit), Small Business Coaching (business planning, marketing, support in finding grants), and Resource Development coaching (connection to mainstream benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, etc and learning how to utilize social capital).

Our coaches are passionate about the work they do, and as a team, we collaborate closely to ensure each individual receives personalized support to meet their unique needs and aspirations.

Our coaching sessions are tailored to meet each individual's needs and goals. We are dedicated to supporting our members to the fullest extent, ensuring that each session is designed to address their specific needs and assist them in reaching their objectives.

Our coaching services are available in both English and Spanish. We understand the importance of language accessibility, and we are proud to have a majority bilingual staff who can effectively serve the needs of our diverse community members.

We prioritize flexibility to accommodate individual needs, including the possibility of arranging hybrid and virtual sessions. We prioritize accessibility within our organization and recognize that attending on-site sessions may not always be feasible for all members who require support.
The initial coaching sessions aim to be in-person. -
At CCL, we are always open to forming strategic partnerships with other local community based organizations (CBO), as well as schools, faith communities, and local community groups. These partnerships help us expand our reach and better serve our community. Additionally, we gratefully accept donations on an ongoing basis to support our programs and services. We also welcome volunteers who can assist us with events and other needs, contributing their time and skills to further our mission.
