When you donate to CCL you are supporting your neighbor, like Joyce, who came to Chicago from Guatemala with her daughter.
They came with hope and seeking a better future. Joyce worked as a social worker in Guatemala but has found barriers to employment as an English-language learner and as someone who is in a wheelchair because of spina bifida.
Joyce is working closely with Liliana, one of our bilingual Employment Coaches, to uncover her own poder (power) as she makes progress toward her goals. She is excited about having a job where she can share her gifts and passion.
